At Birdy, operated by Equity Group Capital LLC, your privacy is our priority. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use the Birdy app, website (birdyone.com), and related services, including our SMS notification program, Birdy Alerts.
1. Information We Collect
Personal Information:
In addition to information collected to facilitate connections, booking, and payment for a broad range of mobile professional services, we collect data to support our expansive marketplace of mobile professional services.
- Customer Information: Name, email address, phone number, and payment information (processed securely via third-party payment processors like Stripe) for booking and transaction purposes.
- Service Provider Information: For individuals offering services (e.g., mobile mechanics, chefs, pet sitters, etc.), we collect additional profile information, including professional credentials, background check data (as applicable and consented to), service categories, service descriptions, and profile photos.
- Phone numbers are collected solely for account verification codes (OTP) when you opt in to Birdy Alerts for security.
Location Data:
- Real-time GPS location for Customers to connect with nearby service providers.
- Real-time or recent location data for Service Providers to facilitate service provision, navigation, and scheduling.
Device & Usage Information:
- Device type, operating system, IP address, and app usage data to improve our services and ensure functionality.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to facilitate the core functions of our mobile service marketplace::
- Provide and improve the Birdy app and services, including enabling customers to discover and book services (rides, pet care, plumbing, etc.), manage bookings, and communicate with service providers.
- Facilitate the marketplace and build trust, including displaying Service Provider profiles, ratings, and service offerings to Customers.
- Send SMS notifications via Birdy Alerts only for account verification codes (OTP) to secure your account.
- Process payments securely through third-party processors.
- Communicate with you, including customer support and safety updates.
- Ensure compliance with legal and safety requirements (e.g., verifying provider credentials, managing referrals).
SMS-Specific Use
When you opt in to Birdy Alerts, we use your phone number to send only SMS account verification codes (OTP). These are necessary to confirm your identity during registration or login. You can opt out at any time by texting STOP to our 10DLC number, but this may affect your ability to securely access your account. Message and data rates may apply.
3. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information or share your phone number with third parties for marketing purposes. We may share limited information as follows:
- With Service Providers and Customers: To facilitate the booking and delivery of the requested service. Customers share their name, phone number, location, and service request details with the booked Service Provider. Service Providers share their public profile (name, photo, credentials, service category) and contact information with Customers who view their profile or book a service.
- With Payment Processors: Payment details (not phone numbers) to process transactions securely.
- With Legal Authorities: When required by law or to ensure safety (e.g., law enforcement requests).
4. SMS Consent and Opt-In
By opting in to Birdy Alerts through our app (iOS/Android) or website (birdyone.com), you consent to receive SMS notifications only for account verification (OTP). To opt in, you may:
- Check a consent box during account creation or booking.
- Text BIRDY to our 10DLC number.
Disclosures:
- Message Frequency: Messages are sent **only upon your request** (e.g., during login or registration).
- Opt-Out: Text STOP to our 10DLC number to unsubscribe from all SMS messages at any time. **Unsubscribing may prevent you from securely accessing your account.**
- Help: Text HELP for support or contact getabirdy@gmail.com.
- Message and Data Rates: Standard message and data rates may apply.
All SMS messages will include clear instructions on how to opt out and get help. Any links included in messages will be owned and controlled by Birdy (e.g., birdy.com/book).

5. Data Security
We use industry-standard measures (e.g., encryption, secure servers) to protect your data. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Choices

- Access or update your personal information in the Birdy app.
- Delete your account at any time via app settings.
- Opt out of SMS notifications by texting STOP or adjusting settings in the app.
- Opt out of promotional emails via the unsubscribe link in emails.
7. Children’s Privacy
The Birdy app is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We’ll notify you of significant changes via the app, email, or SMS. The latest version is always available at birdyone.com/privacy.
